If you already own a Delica or Endura, you have one of the best selling knives Spyderco makes. The knife you have just acquired is a bit different from the normal C10 Endura4 and C11 Delica4 Lightweights. They are now available in a range of new handle colors with full-flat ground blades. Their FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handles come in new vibrant tones including blue, green, brown, gray and purple. Molded onto the handle's surface is Bi-Directional Texturing® for slip-free tactile traction. Inside the handle are dual skeletonized stainless steel liners which strengthen the knife without additional weight and double as an anchor for external and internal components to attach through generating more sturdiness and rigidity. The blades are full flat-ground VG-10 with a thinner highly refined cutting edge and a larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left-or right-handed clip.

The Spyderco Delica is a classic, and a great introduction to the Spyderco product line. There are so many options for this one because of its popularity and versatility (different colors, different steels, plain/serrated/combo edge, etc). It is great in its price range. I owned one and liked it, but found that I preferred the Caly series (Caly 3 & Caly 3.5) over the Delica/Endura for the following reasons:
1) When clipped inside a pocket, a part of the Delica sticks out of the pocket which is not very discreet and advertises that you carrying a knife. If you are looking for a knife that is more discreet, the Caly series has deep carry clips that only expose a small paper-clip-like clip outside your pocket.
2) The Delica has a choil. This is a portion of the blade that is unsharpened and provides some protection if you choke up on the knife. The Caly has a "50/50 choil" where the portion on the blade is curved so you can place your forefinger in the groove that is partially on the blade and partially on the handle to get closer to the blade. This allows you to get more of your other fingers on the handle and allows better control if you use the knife for anything detailed.
3) The handle material of the Delica is certainly sturdy, but in the end it still feels like plastic. The Caly 3 has a carbon fiber handle, and the Caly 3.5 has a G10 handle, both of which feel more sturdy than the FRN handle of the Delica
4) The Delica has a 4.25" handle, a 2.87" blade, and a 2.56" edge. In comparison, the Caly 3 has a 4.06" handle with a 3" blade and a 2.64" edge. In addition, the Delica has a 10mm thick handle and the Caly has a 9mm thick handle. So the Caly packs more blade into a smaller and thinner handle which makes it easier to carry and gives you a little extra blade.
5) The Delica blade shape is pointy and "stabby." The Caly also has a sharp tip, but it has a leaf shape which looks less threatening and is a little better for spreading peanut butter.
In the end, it is a personal preference about whether you consider these points to be advantages or disadvantages. If you prefer a bigger handle, easier to access in a pocket, a blade that is more shaped like a spear, a little bit lighter, and less expensive, then pick the Delica. But if you want a discreet deep carry, smaller handle knife with more blade and a nicer handle material, take a look at the Caly 3 and Caly 3.5. Keep in mind, though, that the Caly is twice as expensive as the Delica.

This knife is fantastic. I have never had a sharper knife out of the box, and even just a sharper knife period! The feel is great in my hand, my thumb fits very well in the little alcove just behind the thumb hole. Very highly recommended, great value for the price.
